Julie Chen Moonves hosted the popular summer reality show Big Brother which returned to CBS for the 22nd season on August 5. Chen Moonves had been The Talk's first hosts. She was moderating and hosting The Talk from 2010 until 2018. But her real passion was the time she brought writer into her roles and earned an Emmy for her work. Her outstanding talk show also earned the host an Emmy. Between 2002 and the year 2010, Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. In the past, she served as CBS Morning News anchor and hosts of The Early Show. Chen Moonves was assigned to Cairo after the 9/11 attacks. There, she tracked down and interviewed the father who led hijackers to an eye-opening, captivating interview. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. She also spoke with the former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani as well as Queen Rania. Chen Moonves reported on the Emmy award-winning CBS Sunday Morning program. She interviewed celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes Matthew McConaughey Brooks, Robert DeNiro and Jennifer Lopez. She worked as a producer for ABC NewsOne (1992-1995), the news affiliate of CBS, and she was an assistant desk in ABC News' Los Angeles bureau (1990-1991), while finishing her final year at the University of Southern California. She was a desk attendant to ABC News' Nightline program alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel has remained as one of her journalist idols. Chen Moonves and Ted Koppel collaborated for Anatomy of a Riot - an evening show on television which won the Columbia du-Pont award - which looked at what happened during the Los Angeles riots of 1992.
